Makeup Artistry Certificate
Our course is trained by our Awarding Winning MUA team, course topics include day, evening, photographic, 1950’s and bridal make-up and creative makeup. Plus a hands-on opportunity to learn about what is involved in working on a professional photo shoot. A “how to market your business” section has been incorporated into the “practice” segment of the course.

On completion of your course, you will be eligible for many job opportunities including, retail make-up artist, freelance wedding specialist, beauty advisor, cosmetic sales/make-up artist and with time and some experience cosmetic retail manager. You will have the option of completing our ITEC Professional Makeup Artistry Diploma course in order to achieve greater competency and skill in your chosen profession.
Course Outline
Upon completion of your training, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to begin pursuing a successful career as a make-up artist. Qualifications from this course are recognized both nationally and internationally.
Classes are taught, using a range of methods, including demonstrations, practical hands-on training, backed up by sound theoretical knowledge.
All our tutors are qualified and experienced professional make-up artists. They have excellent communication and demonstration skills and are adept at bringing the artistic talent of our students to the fore. They are also currently working across many areas of the Makeup industry so are able to give first hand experience of working within Ireland and Internationally as artists.

DAY 1:
Introduction & Flawless Skin
Introduction to the make-up artist industry
Professional practices
Colour Theory
Understanding Skin Tone
Perfect skin (foundation application, concealing, colour correction, understand facial structure, skin sculpting/contouring, refining and finishing).
DAY 2:
Defining the Eyes
Understanding different eye shapes and bone structure
Liner workshop
Perfecting brows
How to maximize and dramatize
The art of the Smokey eye
Mastering brush control
Flawless blending
DAY 3:
Dramatizing the eyes
Cut-crease eye make-up
Advanced eye make-up techniques
Lash application
Building a full look
DAY 4:
Progress Assessment -
Students to have models and complete a full makeup application using all techniques, concealing, contouring, foundation application, highlighting, and a blended/cut crease eye makeup.
Class will include perfecting symmetry and line work- lip correction and application of product.
Day 5:
Bridal All Day -
Complete a subtle soft bridal look. Complete bridal look more dramatic.
DAY 6:
CREATIVE COLOUR -
Understanding colour and mode boards
How to construct a colour palette
Iris enhancement
Creative colour workshop – experiment with a world of colour, pigments and textures The Art of Mixology- full fantasy/couture/period look completed
Day 7:
HIGH FASHION -
Striking high fashion makeup looks perfected
DAY 8:
FINAL MAKE-UP CHALLENGE -
Each student to have appropriate models in for their photo shoot. Two looks will be completed by each student.
All props required if needed
DAY 9&10: EXAM
Core Subjects:
Consultation, Client Care & Conduct.
Business Organizations - Where to position yourself in the Makeup world.
Product & Brush Knowledge.
Basic to Intermediate Technique applications.
Ethics as a makeup artist, Hygiene/ Sterilization procedures.
To complete this course, you will be required to work hard both in class and at home.
We recommend a minimum of 1 hour of practical & theoretical study to be completed each day to become a competent and confident MUA.
Models may be required at different stages throughout your training.
A €50 will be required for your photoshoot.
